The focus is on ONE MATERIAL.Better yet:a surprising one

An Design's metal-on-metal bakery puts Mr.Maimai's golden goods on show.

 

HANGZHOU-With so much visual noise in a shopping mall,it's rare to find a moment to focus on a single thing.Keeping this situation in mind,An Design fashioned Mr.Maimai in Hangzhou Kerry Centre almost entirely from one material:brushed stainless steel.

Against an austere backdrop,the only real "warmth"in the 45-㎡ scheme comes from the bakery's offerings of golden-crusted breads and other sugar-sprinkled pastries,as well as from indirect lighting.Emitting a similar amber hue,luminaires are concealed within the construction to ensure the visual prevalence of metal throughout.

 

While the drastic design may seem more mess hall than cosy cafe'-it must be a cinch to hose down at the end of the day-An wanted to provide a "rest space" for those lost in shopping-mall madness. As opposed to canteen-style seating,however,the designers arranged Mr.Maimai as if they were organizing a classroom." All guests face one direction,"Shanwei Weng,An's design director," to keep the act of dining full of interest. "And if that interest fades,it's unlikely guests will want to lounge and linger on backless metal stools,part of a strategy that is surely good for business.At Mr.Maimai,the old trick of furnishing fast-food joints with uncomfortable seats to encourage customer turnover may draw people in to eat before they hightail it to plusher pastures.

In this exclusive movie, designer Weng Shang Wei explains how he achieved the deep, uniform shade of black inside the Hangzhou fashion store that was named World Interior of the Year at Inside 2016 last month. Black Cant System by Weng's studio AN Design, which he co-founded together with Jiadie Yuan, is a concept store for a fashion brand called Heike.

HEIKE has won the 2016 INSIDE World Interior Awards

在德国柏林竞技场举办的WAF世界建筑节与INSIDE室内设计节已经在11月18日揭晓了最终获奖结果,啊嗯设计的黑色斜面系统-HEIKE时装概念店继获得INSIDE世界室内设计节最佳零售空间设计奖之后,最终获得INSIDE世界室内设计节2016年度大奖。

A N Design designed the Black Cant System--Heike fashion concept boutique has won the 2016 Inside World Interior Award after been announced winner of Retail category in Inside Festival of Interiors,which are taking place with World Architecture Festival (WAF) at Arena Berlin in Germany until 18 November.

LOS ANGELES, Jun 16 2016 Los Angeles, Design Director:Shanwei Weng 、Jiadie Yuan of China was awarded: First Prize in Interior Design Competition for the Black cant system - HEIKE fashion brand concept store Project.

IDA honorary juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. After final decisions had been made, the jury rewarded the best professional and emerging designers for their achievements in terms of design, creativity, usability and innovation. Judging was a rigorous process, with winners receiving publication of their work in the International Design Awards Book of Designs. The coveted IDA Trophy will be awarded to all Designer of the Year title winners at the official biennial International Design Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.

This annual competition recognizes, honors and promotes legendary design visionaries and uncovers emerging talents in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design on global level.

Anwhat烟缸:

设置一个并不常规的厚度,达到一定的分量感,利用烟缸的自重,单手拿烟在烟缸的内壁灭烟,并不移动烟缸的基本物理位置;实现这样一个标准:轻松捕捉一个角度单手灭烟,解放那个时间的另一只手,随性的翻阅或致幻的举杯,改变使用这个尺度烟缸时,双手灭烟的习惯.必须的必——必须干掉那个平滑的底部,在我与烟缸的日常冲突中截取设计,挖出底部的三个凹凸,由暴力完成这个三维物体的平和。烟缸的空间体验,是手势,动作、和如何自然介入思考,也可能是50cm距离处对烟缸的凝视,触摸时的细节,偶而揉洗,用白色纸巾擦拭水迹时,感受底部缺失的变化,以及物理轻重的微弱心理落差。不适,稍显过分的重量,遭遇功能难以自圆其说的设计书写,这样的冲突——由烟者自己来体验,思考,消解!
